After Khichadi, Sarabhai and BBB, we found a very good comedy serial name Tarak Mehta Ulta Chashma. I was reading the original stories in a gujarati magazine by original Tarak Mehta. Earlier I thought that Serial is turning out to be better than original stories in magazine.
Dilip Joshi has played the character of Jethalal too good. The serial was having some flaws – e.g.
- Tapu never looked like a leader of his friends. His other friends are far smarter and bigger than him.
- Daya is shown totally dumb. A female living in Mumbai for 10 years can’t be such dumb.
- None has realised so far that Jetha is having soft corner towards Babita
- Champaklal is annoying at times.
But script was so powerful that we never felt that this shortcomings will affect us ever.
But off late, this is turning out to be a boring show. Other characters are not doing well and story is loosing its ground. It looks like writer is short of topics to make people laugh. Just look at this blunders
- Character of Sunder is no more funny but very irritating.
- How many times Sunder can make Natukaka pay for his bills. Jethalal can easily say him not to pay bills anytime now.
- How many times Jethalal has to pay Sunder’s taxi bills?
- Daya’s laugh looks very horrible and untolerable.
- Last story of Dr Hathi and special episode didn’t bring a smile for single time during 1 hour.
- Many topics can easily get over in 2 episode but it is clearly evident that producers are stretching the story too long.
I feel the standard of show is going very down. I hope the producer / director will see to this and try to improve the show. Indian viewers thrown away many hit serials in weeks and it will not take long for them to ignore this also.
